Terminator II

It cant form complex machines, guns and explosives have chemicals,

moving parts, it doesn't work that way, but it can form solid metal shapes.

Ten years after Sarah Connor destroyed the original terminator that was programmed to kill her, two males appear in Los Angeles from the year 2029. The first of these males it a terminator, the same model that was sent back in the first film. The second is an unknown entity.  Meanwhile John Connor is now living with foster parents, his mother Sarah is held at a mental institute, the Pescadero state hospital. Of course this would have been brought about by her telling her son that he would one day lead the remnants of the human race to victory against the machines.

Both males manage to track down John Connor, however it is the original terminator who gets there first. The twist here is that the terminator model from the first film is now the protector of John Connor, and the other entity, an upgraded version of a terminator, wants to kill Connor. When the 101 model (Arnie) rescues Connor from the grips of this latest assassin, a T-1000, Connor realises that he must stay with the former if he wants to live. It transpires tat in the future Connor himself programmes the 101 model to act as his protector, whilst the more advanced T-1000 was sent back by Skynet. As in the first film it is a battle against the odds as the T-1000 is composed of mimetic polyalloy, essentially liquid metal, enabling it to emulate anyone or anything of equal size, except "complex machines" like "guns and explosives" because they have moving parts.

Connor's foster parents meet an untimely end, and when he learns that the T-1000 will go after his mother he persuades the 101 model to rescue his mother from the state hospital. Upon arrival a battle between the two terminators ensues, and after escaping with their lives the terminator tells them about the future, about Skynet and how it will destroy humanity. It also informs them of Skynet's creator, Miles Bennet Dyson, who designed a learning computer which suddenly became self aware on August 4th 1997, and that by August 29th of the same year it was able to launch nuclear missiles that would destroy most of humanity.

Eventually, Sarah, John, and the Terminator arrive in the desert at Enrique Salceda’s camp, who has preserved an underground weapons cache in the event that the war actually happens. Sarah plans to take John and flee over the border into Mexico, yet whilst at the camp she comes to the conclusion that by killing Dyson, Skynet would not be invented. They storm his house and inform him of the consequences of his work, and that he must destroy everything related to his chip design, including the CPU and arm that he kept from the previous terminator. After some persuasion Dyson agrees and they break into the Cyberdyne building, and with the Police alerted by security a SWAT team is crawling over the building in minutes. Dyson is fatally wounded but manages to trigger the detonator.

The 101 model and the Connor's escape in a SWAT van, but they are hotly pursued by the T-1000, first in a helicopter and then in a liquid nitrogen truck. In the pursuit the tanker crashes, with the liquid nitrogen freezing the T1000, and whilst the 101 shatters the T-1000 the latter is able to re-assemble itself and continue with its mission. The 101 and T-1000 then go head to head, with the T-1000 stabbing the 101's power cell and putting it out of action. as Sarah and John are parted the T-1000 disguises itself as Sarah and approaches John......however by this time the 101 has reactivated itself using an alternative power source and it shoots the T-1000 with a grenade launcher, throwing it back into a pit of molten metal.

After John throws the parts from the first Terminator into the molten metal, the Terminator tells him that he too must be destroyed to prevent his technology from being used to create Skynet. He tells Sarah that he cannot self-terminate, and she must lower him into the steel......
