End of Days

Something good happens, "It's His will." Something bad happens,

                       "He moves in mysterious ways."

In 1979 a newborn child, Christine York, is discovered by Satanist who observe a symbol on her arm, which identifies her as the chosen one to bear Satan's son during the last hour on New years Eve 1999. Just as she is being born however a priest in the Vatican witnesses a comet and as a result he is sent on a mission by the Pope to protect the girl.

The film then moves to 1999, in fact not too long before the end of the year, and retired Police Officer Jericho Cane (Schwarzenegger) is assigned to protect a wall street banker from a rogue priest named Thomas Aquinas, who is eventually captured and taken to a mental hospital. Unknown to Jericho however the bankers body has been taken over by Satan, and matters do not look to clever for humanity when Jericho and his friend Chicago see the name 'Christine York' scratched into the priests skin.

Jericho and Chicago visit the adult Christine (Tunney) in her apartment, saving her life from a group of Vatican Knights sent to kill her. That evening, while Jericho is still with Christine, Chicago is seemingly killed by Satan. As Jericho and Christine try to flee, they are stopped by Mabel, Christine's guardian and one of the Satanists. Jericho's superior from his days in the police force, Mabel and a police officer, both Satanists, confront Jericho and are killed. He and Christine escape to a nearby church to find some answers from Jericho's friend, Father Kovak (Rod Steiger). Kovak is soon aware of what is happening and advises them to go into hiding - however Christine refuses.

Jericho returns home, and is tempted in numerous ways by Satan, so that he will reveal the location of Christine. Jericho refuses and throws Satan out of the window - yet shortly after his friend Chicago turns up and they both decide that they must help Christine. Jericho again saves Christine from the Knights, yet when he is betrayed by Jericho he is left beaten and tied to a cross. After being rescued by Father Kovak, Jericho arms himself and goes in search of Christine. he manages to end up at Satan's hideout and fighting ensues. he and Christine manage to escape, although they are pursued vehemently by Satan, whose body is severely damaged in the conflict. Jericho and Christine end up in a church and Satan smashes through the floor. Satan confronts Jericho and takes control of his body - in an attempt to mate with Christine. Is this the end for humanity or will Jericho be able to fend off the invading Satan???
