A Nightmare on Elm Street

"Fred Kruger cant come after you nancy...he's dead."

Freddy Krueger was a child murderer who killed around twenty children in the neighbourhood of Springwood. A group of parents tracked him down to a disused boiler room and covered the area with gasoline. They then stood there and watched him burn - and that should be the end of the story. In actual fact its only the beginning!!!

Nancy (Heather Lagencamp) and her friends are having grisly, creepy nightmares which involve a man with a burned face, wears a dirty red and green sweater and he has knives for fingers. When Tina Grey is killed in her sleep suspicions immediately turn to her boyfriend, Rod Lane, yet when he is also killed in his sleep :Nancy fears that she will have to fight this battle alone given that the police simply don't believe her. After failing to persuade her father (who is the local Sheriff) and her alcoholic mother she turns to her boyfriend for help....until he too is slain. Her mother reassures her that this man who is 'trying to get her' is not Fred Krueger as he is dead, yet Heather knows otherwise.

She feels that the only way to defeat this evil is by pulling him out of her dream, into her world. The ending of the film is just as chilling as the beginning, and this is without doubt the best of the Freddy Krueger collection. Furthermore the dark twists and turns of the film will have you either cowering under your duvet or making sure that you don't go to sleep.....
