Leprechaun V

'A friend with weed is a friend indeed, but a friend with

gold is the best I'm told.'

It opens with the slumming Ice-T finding the petrified little leprechaun in the basement of a Compton building in the 1970s. You see, if the Leprechaun has a certain necklace around his neck, he is frozen in time until the necklace is removed.Ice and his partner proceed to rob the little guy of a small flute, some gold coins, and the necklace, which reanimates the Leprechaun. As usual he begins spouting sinister rhymes and killing everyone in sight. After a weak gag where Ice pulls various weapons from his giant afro, he throws the necklace in the air so that it lands around the Lep's neck, and one again he is frozen in time

The Leprechaunis on ice for about 25 years; meanwhile, Ice is now a successful rap producer thanks to the magical golden flute. Anyone who plays the flute is suddenly a musical genius and will enrapture their audience.

Enter three young rap artists who are looking for a deal. They need money to buy some music equipment so they can go to Las Vegas and enter a contest. They meet up with the local pimp Mack Daddy (Ice) who agrees to "hook them up", but later declines after they refuse to promotote aggressive crime breaking lyrics. The rappers want to get even with him so one night they break into Mack's place and steal a lot of his jewelry, gold, and even the medallion off an ugly looking statue. The statue transforms into the Leprechaun....and once again he is free to terrorize the neighbourhood. The rappers take off with the gold, along with the Leprechaun's prized flute, which has mysterious powers. Now both the Leprechaun and Mack Daddy want it back....but the leprechaun also has other scores to settle!!! This film is, in my opinion, one of the better installemnts and seems to appear to be more serious than the others.....
