Scanners

But you do have a nervous system. And so does a computer. And you can scan a

computer, as you would another human being.

Scanners are people with telepathic and telekinetic abilities. ConSec, a corporation specialising in weaponry and security systems, is attempting to exploit their talents. At the films commencement, ConSec's last scanner is murdered by renegade Darryl Revok: in which Revok makes the scanner's head literaly explode. Revok is captured by ConSec staff but uses his powers to escape.

Dr. Paul Ruth, the head of ConSec's scanner section, then recruits our hero Cameron Vale, a drifter who can hear others' thoughts, to infiltrate Revok's underground organization. Vail is given a wonder drug called Ephemerol, which helps to control the voices and allows him to use his powers more effectively. We also learn that Revok was a previous subject of ConSec, and that he wants to create his own group of super scanners by injecting pregnant women with the same drug.

And so the battle commences....with Revok well aware that ConSec have employed Vale to destroy him, and Vale battling with his own demons....Who will emerge the victor.
