Halloween VI

"Michael's work isnt done in Haddonfield, and soon, very

                         soon he'll come home...."

The film begins with the birth of a baby. If we remember in the last film it ended with the police station being blown up by a mysterious person dressed in black....Michael had vanished and so to had his niece Jamie. It is now six years later and it is Jamie who is giving birth...it seems as though the strange man in black has impregnated her (was it him who did the deed???) and now it is up to Jamie to save her baby from Mr Myers....afterall he does have an obsession with killing family members.

It is a nurse working at the sanitarium who gives Jamie her break.....'save your baby'.....and of course Jamie doesn't need to be asked twice. She escapes in a truck, but is hotly pursued by Myers.

Back in Haddonfield we welcome back Tommy Jarvis...yes the boy who was being babysat by Laurie Strode in the first film. He still lives in his house across the street, and still haunted by the trauma he suffered as a boy he has become obsessed - highlighted by the fixing of a camera focused on the Myer's place. At the Myer's house we now have some relatives of the family who fostered Laurie Strode. When certain events result in curtains for Jamie it is left for Tommy, who acquires Jamie's baby (and the last of the Myer's bloodline) and the ever present Dr Loomis (who comes out of retirement) to protect the baby.

However what this film provides is some real answers behind Michael's drives and motivations - Tommy provides the theory and Michael the evidence. Yet more answers lie with the mysterious man in black - whom is credited with providing the trigger for Michael's death march. This mysterious man recognises the power of Michael and wants to control it, seeing Jamie's baby as the dawn of a new age.

This was sadly the last time that Dr Loomis (Donald Pleasance) graced our screens - with his last words being that 'he had some unfinished business to attend to' back at the sanitarium. This is a film not to be missed if one is to gauge some insight into Michael Myer's himself.
