ALCOHOL TREATMENT REQUIREMENT |
The Court has sentenced you to either a Suspended Sentence Order or a Community Order with one requirement being the Alcohol Treatment Requirement. Esentially the Court have decided that you have a problem with the way in which you use alcohol, and that you need help in dealing with this issue. You have agreed prior to sentence to undertake this treatment. You wil receive treatment, which includes counselling, and can last up to two years of you are subject to a Suspended Sentence Order, and three years if you have received a Community Order. This alcohol treatment requirement varies between Probation areas. In my area an ATr offers the minimum of twelve weeky sessions, and further treatment is offered subject to requirements,
If the Court are looking at an Alcohol Treatment requirement (ATR) you will attend assessment and planning meetings with the treatment provider prior to sentence. they will assess your suitability for this requirement, and will send a report to the Court.
