The Court has sentenced
you to either a Suspended Sentence Order or a Community Order with
one requirement being the Supervision Requirement. This element
means that you must meet regularly with your supervising Probation
Officer, and you will work together to identify and resolve aspects
of your life that need to change and/or are linked to your offending
behaviour. For example they could assist you in finding wor, assisting
with accommodation issues or assist with financial management. they
may also work to help you complete other requirements.
- Your 'Responsible
Officer' will:
- Explain your
sentence to you and make it clear that you must attend supervisin
sessions
- Explain what
will happen to you if you fail to adhere to this requirement
- Review your progress
and assist you in completing the sentence sucessfully.
- Assist with practical
issues and work with areas linked to your offending behaviour
- Treat you fairly
and with respect
- Adhere to the
supervision requirement
- Make sure that
you understand what is expected of you, and ask questions if
you do not know
- Demonstrate respect
to those Probation staff you come into contact with, and others
you meet during your sentence.
- Inform Probation
staff if there are changes to your circumstances; i.e. your
address of telephone number.
- If you are having
problems with your sentence tell the Probation Staff.
- Let your responsible
officer visit you at home if they need to
- If you are
taken back to Court, the Court may:
- Make you do more
requirements.
- Make you do different
requirements
- Make this requirement
or other requirements you are already doing more onerous.
- Send you to prison
Supervision is the
underpinning factor for most requirements proposed within Suspended
Sentence and Community Orders. Ths element is also used to completed
pre and post work for accredited programmes.
