UNPAID WORK REQUIREMENT

  •  About your sentence:

The Court has sentenced you to either a Suspended Sentence Order or a Community Order with the requirement of Unpaid Work. You are therefore expected to carry out work within the community which can be demanding, and which will benefit other people. Conducting this work is a form of reperative justice, in that you are paying back the community for the damage or harm you have caused through your offending. This Officer will also inform you as to where and when you will be undertaking this work.

You will have to work at least six hours per week and finish the requirement within a twelve month period. If you are in full time employment and find it difficvult to work on weekdays, you will be able to undertake this work at the weekends.

  • Explain what will happen to you if you fail to undertake the reuquired work (you may be returned to Court)
  • Review your progress and assist you in completing the work sucessfully.
