Michelle and Brian are two kids traveling across the state of Texas, delivering a car to her father. On the way they pass what appears to be a collection of police and forensics - it seems that they have stumbled upon a mass grave of around fifty bodies. However they get through the road block and stop at an out of the way gas station - called Last Chance. The attendant is a freak, and it is only the intervention of a lonely Hitchiker named Tex that saves them from being shot by the old pervert. The frantic couple take directions given to them by Tex in the aim of finding a town...but as the night sets in they are run off the road by a 4x4 and attacked by a maniac with a chainsaw. they make their escape....but the unlucky couple crash further down the road with another vehicle, driven by Benny, who appears to be some kind of survival expert. Again we see a maniac with a chainsaw and Tex is injured...and then saved by a mysterious woman who appears from the woods.....
the mysterious female, who claims to have been in the woods for a long time after surviving a similar crash doesn't hang around much longer....she is caught by the chainsaw wielding maniac. our three survivors make their ay through the woods - which are laced with traps...and pretty soon it's the end of the road for Brian. However Michelle gets lucky and finds a house within the woods.....and Tex lives there with the rest of his family...
It isn't long before poor Brian's hooked up and ready for dinner...and grandpa, momma, Alfredo, a little girl and of course Junior (Leatherface) are causing mayhem. Whilst Michelle sits watching...she cant leave as she is nailed to a chair....it is left for Benny to rescue her - and upon reaching the house he retorts 'what kind of sick shit is this.' Of course the family of cannibals realise that they are missing one snack - namely Benny - and go out to look for him. And things only look worse for Benny and Michelle when Leatherface gets a present from his family.....a new chainsaw!!
